MUN Mauritian Student Society

last ratified: Spring 2023

MMSS was created by a dynamic group of Mauritians who are passionate about educating others about their diverse culture.

Mauritius is a small island in the Indian Ocean which was colonized by the Dutch in the 15th Century. It was then colonized by the French followed by the British in the 18th and 19th century. We gained our independence on 12th March 1968. We have people from all over the world and people of all ethnicity. We have a very rich culture, inspired by other cultures.

This is why MMSS wanted to broadcast our beautiful heritage and show to the world the Mauritian ways.

Since our group was created last year, we've been organizing many events that helped students to participate in many activities, engage in community as well as learn our Mauritian culture (which is very diverse and multi-cultural in nature).

Thus, we welcome anyone to join our group!

We frequently organise activities that might interest other undergraduate students, such as social events and skill-sharing events.

As we do so, we aim to promote our Mauritian culture and values to other students.
