NextGen Lifeline

last ratified: Winter 2024

MUN NextGen LifeLine is one of multiple cross-Canada chapters that works with Canadian Blood Services to organize on-campus blood donation clinics. Our aim is to provide a venue for students and staff at Memorial University to donate blood. The Blood Drives, in March, had multiple components. We had students walking in to donate blood as well as students coming in with pre-booked appointments. Furthermore, various info stations were present with Volunteers from Canadian Blood Services and MUN NextGen where attendees and registrants stopped by to ask questions and were educated on the importance of blood donation. In addition to managers from the Wicklow Street location, we also had Directors of Candian Blood Services come over from Ontario to inspect the setup and function of the clinic. They also met with volunteers and employees to give out professional development advice from their experience organizing clinics in larger cities.

In addition to the aforementioned, we worked with different student societies and asked them to promote our events provide a certain number of donors and help us raise awareness about the need for Blood and Stem Cell donations.

Together we are CanadasLifeline!!
